Senior Master Christian Giesel
Kombatan Germany – FCA (Filipino Combat Arts)
Christian started his martial arts journey in October 1993 with an age of 13years at the Budoka Emmendingen (Germany) in the area of the Germans Black Forest, under the instruction of Senior Master Dieter Preuss † (7th degree black belt in Kombatan) and Master Barbara Schwörer † (5th degree black belt in Kombatan) with Modern Arnis and Mano Mano.
Up from there, he studies continuously the FMA style. He was member of the DAV (Deutscher Arnis Verband – German Arnis Association) under the chairmanship of GM Dieter Knüttel (10th degree black belt in Modern Arnis) and later in the MAMD (Modern Arnis – Mano Mano Organisation Deutschland) under the chairmanship of GM Wolfgang Schnur (10th degree black belt in Kombatan).
n 2002 he reached his first black belt into an FMA Style. He met GGM Ernesto A. Presas Sr. in 2003 and GM Michael Ermac. With the creation of the AdM (Arnis de Mano Germany Association) under the leadership of GM Peter Konschak (8th degree black belt in Kombatan ) and Senior Master Dieter Preuss, Christian follows both mentors.
Mid of 2025, Christian and the Budoka-Emmendingen (the club behind him) split from the Arnis de Mano Germany Association in a friendly way. Christian and the head of Budoka members found a new organization and renamed the club from Budoka to FCA (Filipino Combat Arts) with the target to promote a modern Kombatan way and to get more international connection like to GM Thorbjørn Hartelius (9th degree black belt) Denmark and GM Tomi Harell (8th degree black belt) Finland.
• 2001 training in Boxing, Capoeira and Knife Fighting as soldier at the German Army – Teacher of recruits in close combat FMA techniques.
• 2005 – 2013 training at the campus sport organization of the university of Karlsruhe into Escrima and Street Fight (mix of many self-defenses techniques).
• Since 2024 training in FFC (Filipino Fighting Arts) which includes techniques of Kardena de Mano, Dumog, Modern Arnis, Mano-Mano, selfe-defences, etc. with elements from Krav Maga, i-Pensa, Ghost-Elusive Combat, Savate, Boxing and Luta Livre Grappling.
- Since 2016 Instructor and later Master Instructor with the membership of the techniques committee of the Arnis de Mano Germany.
- Form 2016 – 2019 Christian had the official chairment of the Arnis de Mano Germany.
- Since 2021 sport director of the Budoka Emmendingen
- Since 2024 member of the technique committee of the European Kombatan Association
- Since 2024 membership of the FFA Organization (Filipino Fighting Arts) under Timm Blascke and Marcus Ruddis.
- Since End of 2025 Master Chief Instructor and sports director of FCA (Filipino Combat Arts)
- 2 DAN – Lakan Dalawa Modern Arnis by GM Wolfgang Schnur
- 2 DAN – Lakan Dalawa Mano Mano by GM Wolfgang Schnur
- 6 DAN – Lakan Anim Kombatan Arnis by GM Peter Konschak

Christian focus is on the self-defenses and the translation of classic FMA techniques to the world of today.
