I first came into contact with Filipino martial arts and Kombatan in 2008 when I met the late grandmaster Ernesto Presas through my work. I went to his gym to train. I was taught by the grandmaster’s students. In 2009, I participated in the world camp in Hinigaran, where I starred in the grandmaster’s film. In 2010, the grandmaster passed away and my training decreased. In 2015, I started again under the teaching of my husband Tom, and Kombatan and other Filipino martial arts have been a big part of my everyday life ever since.
