Kombatan is a Filipino martial art (FMA) system founded by Ernesto Presas Sr. in the Philippines. It was developed as a comprehensive fighting art that combines traditional Filipino combat methods with practical modern self-defense.
Kombatan share historical roots with other Filipino martial arts systems such as Modern Arnis, but it developed into its own distinct style under Grandmaster Ernesto Presas Sr. The system emphasizes adaptability, fluid movement, coordination, timing, and the ability to transition seamlessly between weapons and empty-hand techniques.

Kombatan includes training in:
- Single stick (Solo Baston)
- Double stick (Doble Baston)
- Knife techniques (Daga)
- Stick and knife combinations (Espada y Daga)
- Empty-hand striking and trapping
- Locks, throws, and takedowns
- Self-defense applications
- Flow drills and sparring
Benefits of Kombatan:
Kombatan is a practical approach to self defense. It conditions the practitioner to be physically fit, mentally agile and confident. It enhances eye-hand coordination and reflexes. Practitioners of Kombatan also have the distinction of being a member of the European Kombatan Associations
Kombatan History:
Kombatan hails its roots from several ancient Filipino fighting techniques. It is heavily rooted in Arnis, a Filipino martial art of stick fighting. The Presas family developed the Modern Arnis system of stick fighting in the 1970s.
In the 1980s, Modern Arnis was spread through the efforts of the Presas family to other parts of the world via international seminars.
Ernesto A. Presas Sr. developed and promoted Kombatan, Combative Arts of Presas style in 1995 based on the different martial arts and combat techniques and his own interpretation of Modern Arnis.
